Cracked Tooth Syndrome
Unlike teeth with obvious fractures, teeth with cracked tooth syndrome usually have fractures that are too small to be seen on X-rays. Sometimes the fracture is below the gum line, making it even more difficult to identify. If you are experiencing pain in a tooth when you bite or chew, or sensitivity to cold temperatures, or discomfort which may or may not be consistent, you may be experiencing cracked tooth syndrome. After a thorough examination and detection, Dr. Sheets will recommend treatment depending on the location, direction, and extent of the crack.
