Periodontal Exams & Therapy
Periodontal treatment is an investment in your health.  Treating periodontal problems will help you achieve a healthy mouth and help prevent tooth loss.  In fact, with prompt treatment, proper home care, and regular dental visits, a great majority of patients can keep their teeth for a lifetime.  After evaluating your periodontal health, Dr. Sheets will work with you to determine the treatment options that best meet your needs.

Oral Cancer Screening & Biopsies
Oral cancer screenings are a routine part of Dr. Sheet’s dental examinations.  Regular check-ups, including an examination of the entire mouth, are essential in the early detection of cancerous and pre-cancerous conditions.  Oral Cancer often starts as a tiny, unnoticed white or red spot or sore anywhere in the mouth.  It can affect any area of the oral cavity including the lips, gum tissue, cheek lining, tongue and the hard of soft palate.  Although most of these areas are harmless, some are not.  If Dr. Sheets notices a spot or sore that looks harmless and does not have a clear cause, she will most likely choose to perform a simple test, such as a brush test.  A brush test collects cells from a suspicion lesion in the mouth and those cells are then sent to a laboratory for analysis.  If precancerous cells are found, Dr. Sheets will work with you to determine the most efficient treatment necessary.

Non-Surgical and Surgical Therapies
Complex dental issues require special attention and the abilities of a well qualified periodontist, like Dr. Sung to restore optimum and oral health function. Extensive training and experience provide prosthodontists with a special understanding of the dynamics of a smile, the preservation of a healthy mouth, and the creation of tooth replacements. If a patient requires additional specialty care, Dr. Sung will work directly with Dr. Sheets to personally ensure that their patients receive outstanding treatment.

Anti-snoring Treatment
One third of the population snores. Fortunately, using the Silent Nite snore prevention device, Dr. Sheets can now provide you with cost effective relief. The Silent Night device prevents snoring by opening the airway and making breathing easier. The Silent Nite device positions the lower jaw into a forward position by means of special connectors that are attached to transparent flexible upper and lower forms. The forms are then custom laminated with heat and pressure to Dr. Sheets' model of the mouth. The fit is excellent and extremely comfortable. Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Dr. Sheets is highly trained in the field of Nitrous Oxide Sedation Dentistry.  With Nitrous Oxide Sedation, our team can often complete years of needed treatment in just one or two visits.  Most Nitrous Oxide Sedation dentistry patients nap through their visit and leave feeling relaxed, healthy, and well cared for.

For patients with high levels of dental anxiety, Dr. Sheets offers a variety of treatment options.  Before any treatment is commenced, you meet directly with Dr. Sheets to discuss your needs and concerns.  After your consultation we schedule a separate appointment. 

During your visit our care team makes sure you are relaxed and resting comfortably.   During treatment, your blood pressure, oxygen intake and heart rate are monitored. Upon completion of your treatment we stay with you until you are ready to go home with your companion.  A companion will need to drive you to and from your visit and be available after your appointment to help you rest.
